Company Information

“Abuelito” is a Spanish word or term of endearment meaning grandfather.
When Lito’s grandchildren were very young they could not pronounce “abuelito” so they simply called him “Lito”.
Around this time Lito decided he wanted to open a Mexican restaurant. “Lito’s” seemed the natural choice for the name. Since most Mexican restaurants serve tortilla chips and salsa, Lito and his family served the salsa they made from an old family recipe. Lito’s salsa quickly became one of the favorites at the restaurant. Many of the patrons who came to the restaurant ordered chips and salsa to take home.
Years later when Lito finally decided to close the restaurant, loyal patrons requested that he continue to make and sell the salsa. Lito had no desire to do this, but his daughter asked to continue making the salsa. Over the years she and her family have refined the recipe and began selling the salsa at craft shows and sharing jars with their family and friends.
In addition, she began making Pepper Jelly that was also based on another family recipe.
The salsa was a big seller at the craft shows and became as popular as it had been in the restaurant. The pepper jelly soon became just as popular.
The salsa and pepper jelly you see depicted on this website are years of hard work and commitment to bring you some of the best homemade salsa and pepper jelly you will ever taste.
